No more than 35% of the total daily calories (USDA average daily calorie requirement is 2000 cal.), excluding nuts, seeds, peanut butter or other nut butters.

Saturated Fat
No more than 10% of the total daily calories.

Trans Fat
Foods with trans fats do not qualify at any level.

Added Sugars
Sugars like fructose, corn syrup and other sugar additives must be less than 35% of the total weight in grams of each serving. Naturally occurring sugars from fruit, vegetables and dairy products do not count in this measurement.

Sodium (salt)
Measured in milligrams, each serving must have no more than 230 mg for chips, crackers, cheeses, baked goods, french fries and other snack items; no more than 480 mg for cereals, soups, pastas and meats; no more than 600 mg for pizza, sandwiches, main dishes; no more than 770 mg for meals.

Nutrient Content
Each serving should have at least one of the following vitamins: 10% of the RDA (naturally occurring without fortification) of vitamins A, C, E or calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron or fiber, or be half a serving of fruit or vegetable, or be 51% or more (by weight) made from whole grain ingredients
